3 players that Manchester United should not have signed in the first place

Manchester United are renowned for greatness due to the amazing exploits of talented players that have been at the club. The Red Devils, due to their massive status and reputation were able to attract any kind of player they desire. This is even enhanced with the keenness of their transfer target to make the move to Manchester United.

However, this might have seen the club sign great players like Carlos Tevez, Paul Pogba, and Nemanja Vidic in the past.

But the club may have faulted in their acquisition of some players as some of them may have failed to live up to the expectation at the club.

On this note, we evaluate three players that the Red Devils shouldn’t have signed in the first place.

3. Bebe

The Manchester United signing couldn’t last long at the club as his move to the club was followed up by lack of game time. He couldn’t emulate the footsteps like his compatriots Luis Nain and Cristiano Ronaldo achieved at the club. He was a surprise buy, more-like the ease of new signing Odion Ighalo.

While the Nigerian has gone on to perform for the club, Bebe was left to go as he was never meant to have been to the club right from the start.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson also stated that he never saw Bebe play for once. Such is the case of the Portuguese player as he somehow found his way at the club.

2. Fred

The Brazilian has taken time to storm at Old Trafford despite all the huge expectations pertaining to his arrival at the club.

The time Fred took to perform was a lasting one as the United’s hierarchy could have channeled it in the pursuit of a player that would deliver immediate results for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

This was United’s struggle as the likes of Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial were leading the match proceedings for the Red Devils. However, this might have been forgotten at the moment as Fred has begun to perform for Solskjaer’s side while scoring a couple of goals to his name from the midfield position.

1. Radamel Falcao

The Colombian star was an exceptional star at FC Porto and Athletico Madrid as a striker. This alerted clubs like Chelsea and other heavyweight clubs in Europe, more as the Blues want to use him as a replacement for their legendary talisman Didier Drogba.

However, the South American star eventually landed at Old Trafford as one of the signings the club made under David Moyes’s tenure. Despite his reputation and the threats his arrival seems to provide, it turned out to be a loss for the club as Falcao failed to deliver alongside the world-class duo of Robin Van Persie and the legendary United skipper Wayne Rooney.
