Manchester United FC have reportedly been in the look-out of a left-footed full-back, who predominantly plays as a left-back. Luke Shaw has been great this season, but with his poor injury record, the Red Devils are looking out for his replacement in the market. Lately, the club has rekindled their interest in Ben Chilwell, looking at Chelsea’s failure to sign the English left-back.
Ben Chilwell has had his best-ever season in a Premier League this year and has thus drawn a lot of attention. Chelsea are reportedly front-runners for Chilwell’s signature having looked at him since January. But the Mirror has reported that Solskjaer is also interested to enter the race for Chilwell’s signature, though he knows it will not be easy.
Leicester City are trying their best not to let go of their left-back and are demanding a hefty price for Chilwell. The Foxes are reportedly asking for about £80m for Chilwell, which is considered way too much looking at the pandemic scenario. Although it is highly unlikely for either of Chelsea or United to pay such a huge amount, both sides will try.
The Red Devils are surely in the market for a left-back but will rather prefer a cheaper option than Chilwell.
