Manchester United FC were linked with Saul Niguez about a couple of months ago but a move never materialized. The Spanish midfielder plies his trade for Atletico Madrid in La Liga and is arguably one of the most robust midfielders in the world. Lately, The Star reports that United have rekindled their interests of securing the services of the Spanish midfielder.
Saul Niguez has been previously linked with United, but with his success at Atletico Madrid, the Red Devils couldn’t tempt him out of Spain. But now with Champions League football next season, United are determined to strengthen their midfield department. Saul can play either as a box-to-box midfielder or can sit back and play as a defensive midfielder in front of Bruno and Pogba.
Matic has played well lately but with his age, he can only play for a season or two at the highest level. Saul would be a world-class replacement for Matic and will surely improve the United side. It is being reported by StarSport that United are thinking about offering Saul a contract of £150,000 a week.
If the Red Devils can get this deal over the line, they will surely have three world-class midfielders running their midfield. As of now, United haven’t had formal contact with Saul or Atletico Madrid and thus a move is unlikely.
