Manchester United front-runners for Monaco centre-back

Manchester United FC are undoubtedly in the lookout of a left-footed centre-back in this summer transfer window to add to their defense. The Red Devils have been looking at a few options like Gabriel Magalhaes, but have now turned their attention elsewhere. It is now reported that United are interested in Monaco centre-back Benoit Badiashile and might submit a formal offer as well.

Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire have both done well this season, but are both right-footed, which reduces United’s passing options. Adding a left-footed centre-back in the centre-back pairing will open new passing channels that the Red Devils haven’t been using yet. After failing to convince Gabriel Magalhaes the Red Devils are looking forward to getting the 19-year old centre-back from AS Monaco.

According to Le 10 Sport, United have been impressed by Badiashile and might as well submit a formal offer as well. Monaco value the player at about £25m, but might sell in a reduced price due to their urgent need of money. The outlet also reports that United are ready to put a formal bid of about £18m for Badiashile.

The deal is very likely to go through and United will be hugely benefitted by the passing abilities and the defensive solidity of the 19-year old.
