Manchester United FC have learned of an interesting development regarding the transfer status of long-term target Issa Diop this summer. The West Ham United center-back was eyed for a move by the Red Devils last summer, however, a £75 million price-tag had put off Manchester United at that time.
According to recent reports, Diop may be available ahead of the upcoming season for a fee in the region of £45 million. The Hammers have indicated a desire to sell their prized defender if a fee for the aforementioned amount is tabled by the clubs interested in signing the Frenchman.
The 23-year old Diop has been a solid presence in West Ham’s defense this past season. Despite David Moyes’ side enduring a rather indifferent 2019-20 Premier League campaign, the center-back has been one of the club’s most influential performers.
Manchester United FC boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be fazed by the speculation surrounding Diop’s future in the West Ham shirt beyond this summer. The Red Devils backline could do with some additional reinforcements ahead of next season.
Diop too is rumored to be wanting to stage an exit from the London Stadium. The Frenchman’s wage is significantly less than his West Ham teammates and a potential move to Old Trafford could result in an enticing salary package for the young French defender.
