Manchester United renewed Odion Ighalo’s loan move and the African striker remains at the club till January 2021. But before Ighalo the Red Devils were keen on getting Moussa Dembele to Old Trafford because of his goalscoring abilities in the highest level. But lately, Lyon’s Sporting Director clarified that Dembele will move on from Lyon this summer and is open to a move to United according to MEN.
Dembele has been great in Ligue-1 and the Champions League this season and is ready for the move to a bigger club. He came off the bench to score two goals against Manchester City to book their place in the semi-final of the Champions League. But with the corona pandemic, Lyon are likely to sell their most prized players like Dembele, Aouar and Depay.
The French striker has been under United’s radar for quite some time now and was even scouted in his Celtic days. Sighting United’s missed chances in their last two games of the season, Solskjaer might be lured to bring in another striker. Dembele would surely be a great signing for United and could even push Martial for a place in the starting XI.
Looking at United’s slow transfer business and the club prioritizing an expensive Jadon Sancho deal, the chances of Dembele coming to United are slim.
