Mason Greenwood has had a stellar breakthrough season in the Premier League and the Europa League for Manchester United. The 18-year old has scored 17 goals in all competitions and is showing signs of becoming an all-time great at United. Lately, he received his first call-up to the England national side and in his talk with Goal.com, Greenwood talks about his ambitions.
Greenwood has been touted as a generational talent and his goalscoring plaudits have earned him a lot of praise. According to Solskjaer, Greenwood is the most natural finisher the Norwegian has ever worked with, which is some compliment. Playing as a centre-forward in his early days, Greenwood has featured on the wings for United, as it would give him more space to work in.
Elated with his first call-up to the national side, Greenwood aims to break records for England. He said, “Any young football player wants to break records – and if you didn’t, there’s something wrong”. He also added “It’s always nice to have visions and goals you set in your football career and that goes for virtually any England forward – go out there, do your best and break records, be remembered forever.”
Mason Greenwood meteoric rise has been a joy to watch for United fans, who hope that their starlet continues his progress at Old Trafford.
