Manchester United FC were reportedly looking for a left-footed left-back earlier in the summer transfer window after Shaw and William’s injuries. But it the interest since then has dropped down as Shaw was seen stepping up his recovery from injury. It is now being reported by Manchester Evening News that United have rekindled their interests in signing Sergio Reguillon from Real Madrid this summer.
It has been earlier reported about United’s willingness to sign Reguillon, which faded away subsequently. But it is now being reported that United have been monitoring Reguillon lately and will likely place a bid for him. United’s chief technical scout Mick Court has been involved in scouting and monitoring the Real Madrid left-back, after his successful loan outing with Sevilla.
Manchester United left-backs Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams were both good last season, but both struggled with injuries. Thus United might be tempted to get in a move for Reguillon from Real Madrid, who is rated about £20-25m. But it has been reported that the Madrid club intend to have a buy-back clause inserted in Reguillon’s contract if they sell him this summer.
Any deal with Real Madrid is difficult and the United board has to be very cautious about moving in for Sergio Reguillon.
