Neville talks about Manchester United’s next step

Manchester United had a good 2019/20 season, even though it didn’t start very well with losses in the Premier League. But ultimately, the Red Devils finished with a respectable third-position finish in the league and reached three semifinals in cup competitions. United didn’t win a trophy last season and Gary Neville in his talk with Goal.com has talked about the next step Solskjaer must take at Old Trafford.

Since January, Manchester United have played some great football and have lost only a couple of games. United didn’t manage to win silverware last season, which has reportedly disappointed club manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.  Former United captain, Gary Neville has expressed his happiness with United’s performances lately but has also offered advice for Solskjaer.

In his recent interview, Gary said: “A trophy and breaking that top two has to be the next step. I think this year he has to look to break that top two and that’s going to be difficult.” He also added “He (Solskjaer) needs more players and support from the board to do that. If United don’t sign any players it won’t be down to the manager that they haven’t broken into that top two.”

With Van de Beek’s signing and Sancho’s imminent arrival, United will once again be favourites to finish in the top-four in the league and might win some silverware as well.
