Manchester United FC were previously linked with the likes of Jack Grealish earlier this summer before signing Donny Van de Beek. The Red Devils were even looking at Grealish before signing Bruno Fernandes earlier in January, in the lookout of an attacking midfielder. Now Tim Sherwood, in his recent talk with Sky Sports has said that United still should go for Jack Grealish this season.
Jack Grealish was one of the favourites to end up at Manchester United this summer, but a move couldn’t materialize for the midfielder. Instead, United have signed Donny Van de Beek for a relatively smaller amount than what was quoted for Grealish. The midfielder has been seemingly priced out of a move away from Villa as the club has to their £80m asking fee.
In his recent talk, Tim Sherwood, who has managed Villa earlier, said: “When teams back off, that’s when Manchester United have struggled, but that was until (Bruno) Fernandes came in.” He also said “Fernandes could find the key to the door and open teams up. Van de Beek can do that as well, he makes runs and scores goals. But I would also go for Jack Grealish, he can open the door, he’s another Fernandes and gives them another quality that they need.”
Grealish is an amazing player, but with Van de Beek’s arrival, Grealish’s chances of joining United have been shut.
