Solskjaer keeping tabs on youngsters from the academy

Manchester United FC have one of the best youth set-ups and academies in the world and still continue to grind great players out of the academy. The academy has always helped the club in having great players amongst its ranks and the current first-team squad also has a lot of academy graduates. In his latest talk with Manchester United’s official website, Solskjaer emphasized on keeping tabs on the academy prospects.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer earned his coaching badges at Manchester United and has himself coached the academy prospects earlier. He, in his time, has coached the likes of Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Ravel Morrison. The Norwegian knows the value of United’s youth set-up and has come with encouraging words after the United u-23 lost their opening game in Premier League 2.

In his latest interview, he said: “So I’m happy we’re back. I think it’s been looking good and there are some interesting and exciting prospects there.” He also said, “We, as coaching staff and as a club, will always give good, young players a chance if they go through the ranks, when you’re getting ready to get the chance to have a feel of the first team as well.”

Manchester United’s academy has always produced great players and Solskjaer hope the academy will continue doing so.
