Manchester United FC have been reportedly keen in the lookout of a striker this summer even after extending Ighalo’s contract till January. Ighalo has looked out of shape since the restart and hasn’t challenged Martial for the No.9 spot. It is now being reported by the Metro that United are now linked with a move for Arkaduisz Milik from Napoli.
Anthony Martial hasn’t looked sharp this season in the Premier League and United don’t have a good backup to the Frenchman. Odion Ighalo has been unable to compete with Martial for the centre-forward spot, as his goals have dried up even in the cup competitions. Thus, United’s search for a striker makes sense, even though it is the last week of the summer transfer.
It is now being reported that United have turned their attention on signing Napoli’s want-away striker Milik. He has been linked with several clubs this season including Juventus and AS Roma, but a move hasn’t materialized for him yet this summer. The Polish striker wants a move away from Napoli and the Italian club are happy to sell him off they get the right money.
Manchester United must concentrate on completing the signings of Alex Telles and Jadon Sancho first, as the move for Milik looks highly unlikely.
