Rio Ferdinand talks about Manchester United’s summer transfer window

Owing to Manchester United’s terrible summer business, the entire fanbase has been left frustrated and disappointed, but it is not only the fanbase they have disappointed. Several former players of United like Gary Neville, Patrice Evra and Rio Ferdinand have also voiced their displeasure against the board. In his latest talk with BT Sport, Rio Ferdinand has once again questioned Manchester United’s strategy in this summer transfer window.

It has been earlier reported about the incompetency of the United board, which has made only one signing in the form of Van de Beek. Even with Champions League qualification, United owners and board have used COVID as a reason not to spend money in the transfer window. But with almost all other clubs in the league spending a good amount of money, United have spent a little amount of money.

In his latest talk, Rio Ferdinand said, when asked about the transfer, “What position would you rather be in? I’d rather be in Frank’s. Got business done early, got some time in on training pitch and brought in players he wants. I’d rather be at that end of the spectrum than Man Utd where you are frustrated and don’t know where you will continue from.”

He also added that “The most frustrating thing for United fans is that we have all been aware who their targets were, that’s the frustrating element.” Manchester United haven’t even placed a bid yet for their priority signing, Jadon Sancho, which speaks volumes about the board. With only three days left in the transfer window to shut, United must act quickly.
