Manchester United fans have had a summer to forget, as the club was linked to many great talents, but failed to sign most of them. The club has reportedly missed out on all its priority signings and none of Solksjaer’s major needs were fulfilled this summer. It has now been reported by The Athletic that some agents believe Cavani and Van de Beek are the worst signings in the Premier League this summer.
Cavani was signed by Manchester United on the transfer deadline day, whereas Van de Beek was signed much earlier. Both the players have a good track record at their previous clubs, but performing in the Premier League is a different prospect altogether. Both the players will have to be at their best to be amongst the best in the Premier League.
It is now being reported that a survey which was taken with 18 agents of the Premier League about the worst signing of the season. The most unanimous answers were Edinson Cavani’s and Donny Van de Beek’s transfer to Manchester United. In fact, the list also consists of Amad Diallo, who will be joining the Red Devils in January next year.
United’s signings need to perform well to hold their head up high or else they will simply get crushed under the pressure.
