Arguably one of the finest midfielders in the world, at his peak, Juan Mata has surely reached the twilight of his footballing career. The Spanish midfielder can no longer run as he used to a decade ago, but his vision and passing range are second to none. It has now been reported by AS that Juan Mata has rejected a huge deal from Saudi Arabia to continue playing for United.
It was earlier reported that Mata had received a life-changing offer to join an unnamed club from Saudi Arabia. Juan Mata doesn’t get enough game-time at United and is only now used in the easier cup games. But whenever he plays against weaker oppositions, he often ends up being United’s creator in chief and the best player on the pitch and was also the club’s player of the month for September.
It has been reported that Mata has rejected an offer of about €16m, which the unnamed club even raised to €20m. Mata rejected both the offers, as he wants to stay at Manchester United and believes the club will win silverware this season. The Spaniard could have left United for a huge payday but has decided to stay and help the youngsters at Old Trafford.
By rejecting the lucrative deal to Saudi Arabia, Mata has shown his loyalty and his want to play football at the highest level.
