Alan Shearer talks about Manchester United’s season so far

Manchester United have had a poor start to their Premier League season, as the Red Devils have already lost two games. The defending has been horrendous at times, to say the least, and the short vacation hasn’t helped the players, as most of them look out of shape. Premier League legend Alan Shearer, in his latest talk with The Athletic, has raised his concerns about Manchester United’s season.

Alan Shearer is arguably the greatest striker the Premier League has ever seen and his football knowledge knows no bounds. It is evident that Manchester United are about to have a poor season if they don’t make some drastic changes. The defence has been the main issue for the Red Devils and the failure in the transfer window has meant Solskjaer will need a miracle to save his job.

In his latest talk, Shearer said: “I thought they would challenge for a top-four spot, but at the moment they look as if they’re going backwards. If you look at the three league games they’ve played, the first game against Crystal Palace they were hopeless. The third game against Tottenham, you could use whatever word you wanted and they couldn’t argue with it because it was there for everyone to see.”

Shearer was spot-on in his analysis of Manchester United’s new season with two losses in just three games in the league. With rumours of Manchester United already talking to Mauricio Pochettino, Solskjaer will need a massive turn-around to save his job at Manchester United.
