Harry Maguire probably has the entire world against him right now as the defender has been awful lately, for club and country. The Englishman has had a poor start to the season for Manchester United and his red card against Denmark perfectly summarized his recent form. In his latest pre-match press conference, Solskjaer has backed Maguire to come back strong but has also said the defender is doubtful to play.
Harry Maguire just seems to be off the pace since the restart of football in July and this season has been even worse. It was earlier reported that Ferdinand had suggested Solskjaer drop the defender and give him time to reflect on what had happened. Even though he is the captain of the club, he should be dropped looking only at his form on the pitch.
In his latest interview,as per FourFourTwo reports, Solskjaer said: “Harry has got great resilience, I know he’ll bounce back, I know he wants to play and work his way out of the last couple of games he’s been criticized.” He also added “He picked up a knock just before he came off. So, I’m just hopeful he’ll be fit, I had a look at him yesterday and we’ll test him today.”
Harry Maguire should be dropped against Newcastle as he doesn’t look to be concentrating on the game well. Surely the defender has had his fair share of criticism, but it might be the right time to take him out of the firing line.
