Van Basten questions Van de Beek’s decision to join Manchester United

Marco Van Basten is arguably one of the best footballers produced by the Netherlands, both in international and club football. The former Dutchman breathes football and often his advice and comments are taken with the utmost respect. In his recent interview with Ziggo Sports, Van Basten has questioned the fact that why Van de Beek joined Manchester United earlier this summer, from Ajax.

It was earlier reported that Patrice Evra had said that Van de Beek isn’t needed at Manchester United, despite the club signing him. He is yet to start a game in the Premier League for the Red Devils, which has concerned several people. The Dutchman has played some great cameos for United till now, and deserves a place in the starting lineup, in a league game.

In his recent interview, Van Basten said: “Donny shouldn’t have gone to United. It’s really bad for a player like Donny to play six or seven games this year. That’s shocking for your rhythm. I know he’s earning loads more than he used to.” Van de Beek was pictured in the stands looking at the Chelsea game helplessly, which has gone viral.

The Dutch midfielder is expected to play a part against RB Leipzig in midweek, in the Champions League. Van de Beek needs to calm down about his situation as eventually he will get his chance at United and looking at his work ethic, it is almost a surety of him to be successful.
