Berbatov warns Manchester United are not title contenders yet

Manchester United are on a crazy run of good form, seeing the team clinch points from the best teams in Europe, in the Champions League. Under Solskjaer the Red Devils have managed to win most of the times against string oppositions, in the big stage. But, in his latest interview with Betfair, former United striker Dimitar Berbatov has warned that it is too early to jump to conclusions.

Manchester United had a poor start to the season, with losses against Crystal Palace and Tottenham. But since then, the Red Devils haven’t lost a game and have won against PSG and RB Leipzig. Manchester United have played some great football against some of the best European sides and will look to build on it.

But Berbatov has warned that the Red Devils should not be called title contenders yet.

He said: “I wouldn’t jump to the conclusion that United all of a sudden can win the Premier League or the Champions League, it is too early and they need to become that word again – consistent.”

It has almost been a decade since Manchester United won their last Premier League and haven’t won one since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson. Solksjaer would love to win the Premier League as the Manchester United manager, but to do so the team will need to be consistent.
