Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has been under serious threat for his job because of a mixed start to the season. But the manager has almost always produced when the chips are down and has especially done very well against the top-six sides. In his recent interview with talkSPORT, Gabi Agbonlahor has compared Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to the likes of Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho while he was ranting about the scheduling.
After his recent game against Everton, Solskajer went on to rant about the scheduling of games in the Premier League. Manchester United played a game on Wednesday earlier in Turkey and had a 12:30 PM kickoff at Goodison Park again. The Red Devils have also lost Luke Shaw to injury and Marcus Rashford and Victor Lindelof also suffered a few knocks.
In his interview, Agbonlahor said: “He’s starting to sound a bit like old-school Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger who used to moan about every little thing. You won the game, yes you got a couple of injuries, but get on with it. You’ve got two weeks for the international break where you can get certain players some sort of rest but just get on with it.”
Solskjaer has to rotate his huge squad in order to overcome the problem of having injuries to his players. Luke Shaw’s injury might be a long-term one but luckily the Red Devils have signed Alex Telles, who will come in to play in place of Shaw. The fringe players also have to step up in case of injuries to the first-team players so that the level of the team doesn’t drop.
