Manchester United were in the lookout of a central defender earlier this summer but failed to sign one due to the board’s incompetence. The defensive fragilities United have are still on the show, as the Red Devils have had an awful start to the season defensively. It is now being reported by ESPN that Manchester United are looking at David Carmo of Braga.
Manchester United have had problems with their centre-backs, as Maguire and Lindelof have conceded far too many goals for the liking. The Red Devils have been linked with a couple of defenders including Upamecano, but a deal hasn’t been put in place yet. The signing of a centre-back is high in United’s transfer priority list and the club might sign a defender in January.
It has been reported that Solskjaer and United are keen on signing David Carmo, who has done very well with Braga. The Red Devils are not the only club to register their interest in the centre-back, as AS Roma and Fiorentina are also keen to sign him. Carmo fits perfectly into what Solskjaer wants from his left-sided centre-back and holds him in high regards.
Manchester United should be eager to sign Carmo, as he should be available for a cheap price. But first, the club needs to sell the deadwood as United have a lot of unused centre-backs in the squad.
