Bruno Fernandes speaks out on the 2-2 draw with Leicester City

Manchester United talisman Bruno Fernandes insisted that the club’s mentality is on the right track as the attacker revealed that the dressing room atmosphere was quite dull following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side salvaging a 2-2 draw from their visit to the King Power Stadium on Boxing Day.

Fernandes was in flying form against the Foxes as the Portugual international set up Marcus Rashford for United’s first goal of the game before finding the back of the net himself in the second half as the visitors looked to go second in the league standings with a victory.

However, Jamie Vardy turned up at the wrong time for the Red Devils to level the game, meaning that Fernandes and Co. had to leave East Midlands with just a point in the bag.

Speaking to MUTV in the aftermath of the game, Fernandes expressed disappointment at how the game’s proceedings planned out late to deny his side a win, with the 26-year-old adding that United were focused on achieving the best result possible regardless of the opposition’s strength.

I think it’s good to be disappointed,” he told MUTV, as quoted by the club’s official website.

I think, today, I was really happy when I got into the dressing room because everyone was disappointed and saying the things that we have to do better. I think it’s good as it’s creating a mentality, a winning mentality.

We were not happy enough with this point despite knowing we played against a good team.

Of course, I’m frustrated as I know we had the chances to get the three points, which is important for us as we want to win all our games. I think I’ve said before that we have a good team and we have the chances to win this game. The goal was a little bit lucky but we have no time to be disappointed.

We have just three days, another game in three days, and we have to do much better to get the points, as we’ll play against a good team [Wolves at Old Trafford on Tuesday].
