Manchester United have played some excellent games this season and was riding high and second only to a Liverpool side that had a better goal difference in the premier league. They were riding high on confidence yet somehow managed to falter in the important game.
There are quite a few things that crop up on such occasions and it feels like this set of players simply can’t get ahead of that psychological barrier that has been created in their minds.
Harry Maguire had an average performance and Luke Shaw didn’t do himself any favours with that performance either. Bruno Fernandes had an average performance in accordance with his high standards and that is another problem that Manchester United needs to tackle. Other players need to step up to the plate when Bruno isn’t firing on all cylinders.
This is the 4th Semi-final defeat that Manchester United has faced in domestic competitions in the last 12 months and the fans seem to be getting frustrated after a point.
Ole wasn’t overly critical of his players but he admitted that Manchester City was the better team on the day and that they still have a lot to fight for this season.
Manchester United have come so close yet seem so far from achieving domestic success while their city rivals have gone on to make the domestic competitions their own over the past few seasons.
On paper, this Red Devil’s side seems good and very few can rival the kind of talent that they possess but will they be able to get their psyche back in place to start winning trophies again is the main question here.
For all of the fans and people associated with the club, I hope that they can get it all figured out.
