Benoit Badiashile is slowly becoming a hot prospect across the footballing world at a very young age.
The teenager was heavily linked to a move to Manchester United after he had a stellar 2019-20 campaign but he chose to stay put and further his development at Monaco.
Benoit Badiashile has admitted that he was approached by the Red Devils but didn’t fancy a move as he thought that he still had a lot to learn in the Ligue 1.
Badiashile told RMC Sport:
“We played to stay up and so now I am really experiencing being at the top of the table and I think that continuing with the club that trained me was the right decision and this is being proved by the season that we are having.”
The 19-year-old further stated that he does not regret the fact that he chose to stay as Monaco is currently enjoying a good run of form. Benoit Badiashile helped his team keep a clean sheet against PSG which speaks volumes in itself.
Benoit Badiashile has scored two goals and given one assist in 25 League matches so far. He signed his first professional contract with the club back in 2018 and has had 71 appearances for them since then.
His pace and understanding of the game would bolster any defensive lineup and Manchester United need just that kind of player.
Mentality also plays a big part when a player makes the shift to a bigger league and team like Manchester United as every misplaced pass and error gets scrutinized heavily especially if you are a defender.
Manchester United has been heavily linked with some upcoming defenders in the last few months and it is still to be seen if all these rumors will bring in any player that can provide long-term consistency to this team.
