Phil Jones took part in the training at the Carrington pitch as United awaits to host Granada at the Old Trafford stadium.
Jones was injured several months back and did not take part in any league games for United this season. United were still not short of defenders as they played with Maguire and Lindelof in their back four. The duo playing the majority of games for United. United had choices until Bailly was detected positive for the coronavirus.
As per the club’s official website, a return for Phil Jones is very much likely and Solksjaer may include him in the squad facing Granada. Solksjaer included the player in the squad in early 2020 but then he was kept away due to the severity of his injury. He was not even included in England’s international matches due to his unavailability.
Solksjaer even hinted about including Taunzebe in the squad and this will give United plenty of choices in their defense. We do consider that United would be hoping to change their starting eleven and may give fresh chances to other players as well. With Harry Maguire also suspended for the match, United would see a revamp in their defensive line-up.
United would be hoping to win again and book their spot in the semi-finals of the Europa League. A noteworthy lead in the first contest will give United a major boost and some confidence going ahead.
Granada would be hoping to attack high and United should be high on their heels and set up a good plan to snatch an easy win again.
