Manchester United’s Ed Woodward has guaranteed the club won’t look for a European Super League (ESL) restoration after the competition has been brought down.
The Red Devils were one of six Premier League clubs that flagged their goal to shape the ESL recently. Be that as it may, the opposition was met with broad analysis and was dropped only days after the underlying declaration.
Man United has since hoped to assemble spans by considering a crisis fans’ gathering on Friday morning to talk about the deficiencies of their ESL association.
Woodward was available at the gathering, saying ‘sorry’ for United’s misjudgment and demanding that the club would not look for a restoration of the League.
As mentioned by The Manchester Evening News, Woodward said: “You will all have read Joel’s open letter to fans last week apologizing for the Super League decision, and I would like to add my personal apology to this forum. I can assure you that we have learned our lesson from the events of the past week, and we do not seek any revival of the Super League plans”.
While there will be a few different clubs actually intrigued by the ESL, United’s reluctance to get included again is great. The pay and fan interest that United would carry with them would be gigantic, and any Super League would experience the ill effects of their prohibition.
Be that as it may, notwithstanding Woodward’s case, there could well be an alternate rivalry framed later on. With such a lot of tension on the clubs following their Champions League chances, the cutting of the ESL may just be a transitory move.
This may not be the last we hear with respect to another European rivalry. We hope that Manchester United will be wise with their decisions in the future.
