As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Edinson Cavani has uncovered that there was a trace of chances in him looking for a move away from Manchester United this mid-year.
The 34-year-old joined the club on a free transfer the previous summer. He has since dazzled, scoring important goals, particularly since the injury-related shortfall of Anthony Martial.
A lot of news related to his transfer was moving around until recently when he signed another contract with Manchester United, submitting his future to Old Trafford. It comes as a big relief to a side that desperately needs a productive topscorer in the attack.
While he conceded that specific news was misrepresented, Cavani uncovered that the odds of him moving to Boca Juniors was a genuine chance.
Cavani said: “The possibility I was going to sign for them was real, but I was always clear. What has been said and printed is half true, half-lies. Sometimes it’s like that but the chance was real. Has the door with Boca been left open? You’d need to ask Boca if the door is open. Today the reality is what it is, I’m at Manchester United and I’m fully focused.”
While Cavani concedes that he misses his family. Two key variables helped trade his choice in support of United. One is the club’s mentality towards him and another one being, his club teammates requesting that he wait. The way that he decided to attempt everyone’s benefit says a lot about his character as a player.
Cavani’s choice will have gone down well with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was quick to see the player stay. Truth be told, the player shares a decent relationship with the coach.
