As per the Daily Mail, Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has admitted that he wants to win another title with Portugal as they aim to repeat their 2016 heroics in ongoing Euros.
The Iberian goliaths won their first major trophy by winning the Euros in 2016. They started their title defense recently in a 3-0 win over Hungary. While they were a long way from their best, they continued their good form as they look to secure more victories.
They next face Germany prior to playing against World Champions France next Wednesday. The match could guarantee who finishes top of Group F.
Bruno Fernandes was not a part of the impressive Portugal crew that won the Euros back in 2016. He did anyway experienced glory with his country by winning the 2018/19 UEFA Nations League.
The United midfielder is still mentally strong and focused on the upcoming matches. He wants to win the trophy with Portugal and make it two international trophies for them.
Bruno Fernandes said: “We will go until the end. I don’t know if we can be better because if we reach the final and lift the trophy again it is the same as five years ago. We are united. Without team spirit there is nothing. The most important thing is us. That will help us achieve our goals, the perfect us.”
Fernandes proceeds to add that the Portuguese squad has been in great shape this season and will provide stiff competition. The team is strong and seems to have solid coordination. Regardless of whether they can go as far as possible and add their names as a legendary Portuguese team stays not yet clear.
