Manchester United play West Ham United for the second time in four days but this time the two sides meet in the EFL Cup on Wednesday for the third-round fixture at Old Trafford.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men edged out The Hammers narrowly last time around with Jesse Lingard’s late winner and David de Gea’s last-minute heroics in denying Mark Noble from the penalty spot ensuring the win for the visitors to the London Stadium.
The Red Devils look in top form as of late and despite a host of star regulars set for some well-earned rest come Wednesday in the domestic cup fixture, United will be backed as the favourites when going up against West Ham on their own patch.
West Ham gave out a solid showing too on Sunday but were unable to snatch a draw even as a late penalty was awarded to them which was kept out in style by David de Gea.
