Ralf Rangnick is ready to take over as Manchester United’s interim manager after the club and the German struck an agreement.
Following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Rangnick will sign a six-month contract to lead United until the end of the current season. He will then work as a consultant for the club for the next two years, with the possibility of becoming the club’s first sporting director.
Rangnick is not anticipated to arrive at Old Trafford in time for the weekend’s game against Chelsea owing to work visa concerns, but he is expected to arrive soon, with the club still pursuing Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of PSG.
Must Read– Why Ralf Rangnick is the perfect choice for Manchester United
Rangnick’s closest assistant Lars Kornetka has worked alongside him in various positions over the years. As reported by Manchester Evening News, the German duo could again join hands to help Manchester United.
Rangnick described Kornetka as “the best video analyst we have in Germany,” and he worked with him at Hoffenheim and Schalke before joining RB Leipzig as his assistant in 2018.
In 2020, he was named PSV Eindhoven’s assistant manager, but he left a year later to rejoin Rangnick at Lokomotiv Moscow, where he served as a management advisor. Rangnick certainly has faith in the 43-year-old, and he would be a fantastic choice to accompany him to Old Trafford.
Lars Kornetka has worked with Pep Guardiola during his time at Bayern Munich and also with Julian Nagelsmann at RB Leipzig.
