Manchester United hosted Young Boys earlier tonight at Old Trafford in the hopes of securing a positive result in front of their home fans.
The Red Devils got off to a fast start and took the lead in the ninth minute thanks to Mason Greenwood’s goal. However, Fabian Rieder equalized for the visitors in the 42nd minute, resulting in a 1-1 draw at halftime.
In the second half, the Manchester giants lacked the cutting edge and were unable to break into the opponent’s defence, resulting in a 1-1 draw with both teams sharing the points.

During the game, he made a few decent saves, but his passing was very loose.

The dynamic right-back did a good job on defense and made a few driving runs down the right-wing with the ball.

He kept his lines clear when necessary, but he’ll be frustrated that he didn’t keep a clean sheet at home.
CB: Nemanja Matic– 5.5/10
Tonight, Matic was used as a substitute center-back, but he was too sluggish to respond to the danger.
LB: Luke Shaw – 6.5/10
He had a few entertaining moments in the last third before being replaced after an hour.
CDM: Donny van de Beek- 7/10
The Dutch midfield ace successfully shielded his backline while also completing a pair of powerful offensive dribbles. He gave away possession which led to the opponents scoring a goal before half-time.
RW: Amad Diallo– 6.5/10
He was not afraid to take a shot at the goal. In the 67th minute, Diallo was replaced.
CM: Juan Mata– 7/10
The Spaniard had a few good moments in the Young Boys half but was unable to score.
CM: Jesse Lingard– 7/10
With his ingenuity and speed, he posed a lot of issues for the opposing defense.
LW: Anthony Elanga– 6.5/10
Elanga put forth a lot of effort on defense but couldn’t make an impact in the final third.
ST: Mason Greenwood– 8/10
Greenwood scored the game’s only goal in the ninth minute and was a tremendous bother for the rival defense.

He gave Man United’s defense some bite and steel.

After coming off the bench, Heaton was able to keep a clean sheet.
