Manchester United has made little progress in terms of bringing in new players so far this transfer window, but that could be about to change thanks to rumoured negotiations of Ralf Rangnick to bring a very talented player to Old Trafford.
According to The Mirror, interim manager Rangnick has verbally negotiated a £33 million fee with RB Leipzig for Amadou Haidara, who is presently representing Mali at the AFCON.
Manchester United is not the only team interested in signing the Bundesliga star, according to the report, with Newcastle United also hoping to get him before the end of the transfer window.
Rangnick is apparently interested in signing the midfielder from his previous club and has put him at the no.1 spot in his transfer wish list, as the German coach looks to boost his midfield options at Old Trafford this month.

The Premier League heavyweights, on the other hand, have yet to submit an official proposal for Haidara, and hence risk losing the player to another club.
The fact that any progress, even a verbal agreement, has been made for new players to join Manchester United this month will come as a huge relief to the club’s fans, with the side dropping points in their last two games, making their race for a top-four spot even more out of reach, with West Ham United currently five points ahead in fourth.
In Rangnick’s favourite 4-2-2-2 formation, Haidara provides adaptability in his position, which Manchester United urgently needs from its players.
He has scored two goals in 13 appearances from his defensive midfield position and has been successful in 72 percent of his dribbles this season in the Bundesliga, demonstrating that he is effective in being progressive in his play, which is essential for the pressing style Rangnick employs at Man United.
Rangnick must act quickly to acquire his signature at Old Trafford during this transfer season, with Newcastle also interested in signing the talented Malian midfielder. Fans will be ecstatic if he makes a move.
