Ligue 1 side Bordeaux are reportedly keen on signing Manchester United defender Phil Jones in the final days of the January transfer window.
A mid-season move to France could be on the cards for the Old Trafford outcast Jones ahead of Monday’s deadline day with Bordeaux looking to add depth to their defensive roster, according to reports from L’Equipe.
Jones is understood to be open to the idea of making the switch to Ligue 1 football with the former England international struggling to secure regular first-team action under his belt in the Manchester United shirt.
It remains to be seen whether the United boss Ralf Rangnick, who took charge at the club on an interim basis last year, will give the green light for sanctioning Jones’ sale midway through a pivotal league campaign for the Red Devils.
The 29-year-old central defender has 18 months left to run on his deal with the Premier League giants but could look to head out the exit door with the likes of Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof ahead of him in the pecking order.
