Peter Schmeichel has held conversations with Manchester United Executive Officer Richard Arnold on matters related to the club’s future. He has revealed that the new CEO understands the size of the job ahead.
Richard Arnold has taken over Ed Woodward’s role at the club. Woodward served the club for 16 years before announcing his departure after a huge backlash from the fans. Arnold was announced as the new Chief Executive Officer on February 1 this year.
But his task of rebuilding Man United has been made more difficult by his predecessors. Glazers are still at the top of the helm and with the club struggling on the field, Arnold has a really big task to work on.
From signing a world-class manager to bringing in top-class players, he needs to do it all. However, Peter Schmeichel believes that the current CEO understands his role at the club and will guide the club in a proper direction.

As reported by BBC Sports, he said:
“This is about a rebuild of the club. We changed leadership at the beginning of February. Richard Arnold has started the job of CEO and it’s the first CEO we have had since David Gill. He has a bit of power now to do what he thinks is right for the job and I welcome that.
“I have had lots of conversations with him about the future of Man Utd and he understands it’s not about the manager, it’s about restructuring and modernizing the club.
“We pride ourselves on our fantastic history but at some point, we have to plan ahead. I have great faith in him and the direction he wants to take the club.”
To talk about transfers, Ralf Rangnick has recently admitted that United needs to make up to ten signings. It will take a few transfer windows to make it possible. New manager Erik Ten Hag will have the power to decide about the players to be signed and Rangnick will also have a role in discussing club-related matters.
Arnold has also allowed John Murtough and Darren Fletcher to handle other club-related issues. There are reports that the club is also planning to bring in a club legend to assist Erik Ten Hag.
The Red Devils were defeated by Liverpool by a 4-0 scoreline which was enough to pour salt into the wounds. The result was more like an alarm to the club.
The club has already started the rebuild for the future.
