According to rumors from German publication BILD, Manchester United could intensify their attempts to sign RB RB Leipzig attacker Christopher Nkunku in the forthcoming transfer window.
Erik Ten Hag aims to bolster his attacking options and the former PSG player could be a perfect addition. Leipzig’s bosses, on the other hand, want the France international to sign a contract extension that would pay him nearly three times as much as he earns today.
A release clause would also be included, allowing him to leave in 2023 for a cost of around 65 million Euros.
Only proposals worth more than 75 million euros will be evaluated by the club during the next transfer window. However, his former club Paris Saint-Germain is also interested in signing him.

Christopher Nkunku joined RB Leipzig in the summer of 2019 for a fee of around €15 million after rising through the ranks at Paris Saint-Germain. The France international has made 132 appearances for The Red Bulls in the last three seasons, scoring 47 goals and assisting 43 times in all competitions.
This season, the 24-year-old forward has been Leipzig’s key scorer, with 31 goals and 14 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions.
In addition, he has put up some impressive statistics this season, averaging 2.3 shots, 1.9 crucial passes, 1.9 dribbles, and 0.5 crosses per 90 minutes in the German top flight.

Marcus Rashford has been in poor form in recent months, while Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard are also expected to leave the club in the summer. Mason Greenwood stays suspended until further notice after being arrested on accusations of rape and assault. Also, Juan Mata’s contract expires at the end of the season.
Given the circumstances, Manchester United will need to make some new forward additions if they are to improve their current squad – and Nkunku fits the bill wonderfully.
He has won many domestic trophies with Parisians and will provide United with much-needed depth and experience. As a result, the board should look to close this signing in the next months.
