Didier Deschamps has now optioned to use Ibrahima Konate and he will be playing in the starting XI in the next threw Nations league fixtures in place of Varane. Le Blues now play two matches against Croatia and then one against Ralf Rangnick’a Austria.

Surprisingly, it’s the first international call-up for Liverpool center-back Ibrahima Konate, who has been impressive for his club this season.

This season, Raphael Varane has faced a number of injury issues ranging from hamstring to groin injury. United fans were not happy with the way the former Real Madrid center-back has played his debut season for the club.

Victor Lindelof has played more minutes than Varane and it was one of the reasons Rangnick preferred to stick with the Swedish center-back.
