Cristiano Ronaldo demands his Manchester United contract to be terminated

Cristiano Ronaldo has demanded for his Manchester United contract to be terminated a year early in a fresh twist to his transfer saga this summer, according to a report from The Daily Mail.

Ronaldo has made it clear to the Red Devils board that he wants out of Old Trafford before the transfer window slams shut with the Portuguese superstar keen to feature for a Champions League competing club.

The forward’s showdown talks with the United executives and head coach Eric ten Hag have failed to convince him to stay put with the United camp beyond the summer and Ronaldo has put forward his demand of terminating his two-year contract.

He had penned a lucrative two-year deal at Old Trafford last summer on his much-hyped return to the Premier League from Juventus but Ronaldo’s first season back in England was a dud by his team’s standards despite the attacker at his brilliant best in front of the goal.

United could only manage a sixth place finish in the league standings which does not make them eligible to turn out in the Champions League this coming season and add to speculation over Ronaldo’s uncertain future with the 20-time top-flight champions.
