Manchester United remain keen on moving in for Frenkie de Jong this summer despite a strong interest in Leicester City’s star midfielder Youri Tielemans.
The Barcelona maestro De Jong has emerged as the priority name on the shopping list at Old Trafford with the new United head coach Eric ten Hag keen to reinforce his underwhelming midfield roster by signing his former Ajax talent.
De Jong was a hit for Ten Hag during their days at Ajax and the latter is convinced that bringing De Jong to the Red Devils camp could turn out well for both parties even as the 23-year-old shows reluctance to sign for the Premier League giants.
According to a report from Manchester Evening News, United are still keeping close tabs on the Holland international but are alerted to the possibility of signing long-standing target Youri Tielemans whose future at Leicester attracts much speculation.
The Belgian Tielemans is understood to be mulling over heading out the exit door at the King Power Stadium and has the likes of Liverpool, Real Madrid and Chelsea interested in landing his services.
