As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have agreed to a loan deal to sign Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka. The Red Devils would be able to sign the 33-year-old permanently for £5 million next season.
When Manchester United permitted Dean Henderson to go out on loan to Nottingham Forest, a backup goalkeeper quickly rose to the top of the list of requirements.
Simply said, Erik ten Hag doesn’t have enough confidence in Tom Heaton to consistently play behind David de Gea, which is why the team has invested resources in hunting for a new number two.

Yan Sommer and Kevin Trapp were mentioned, but Martin Dubravka of Newcastle United has been in rumours the most frequently. With regard to signing the Slovakian international, Newcastle and United have finally reached a comprehensive agreement.
There are still a few personal details to work out with the 33-year-old before the agreement is complete. The deal, though, looks promising right now. This is the closest thing to a signed contract you’re going to find before it’s actually done.
Ten Hag appears to be interested in Dubravka, and the veteran is undoubtedly anticipating that the goalkeeper to compete with their Spanish star.
De Gea should at the very least be more motivated as a result of this move to strive even harder to earn his starting position.
