According to The Sun, Manchester United are very interested in signing Jan Oblak to play for them at Old Trafford in the upcoming season. As David de Gea’s contract expires in 2023, the Slovenian keeper could be an ideal fit for the Red Devils.
Currently, Martin Dubravka was just brought in on a season-long loan from Newcastle United in order to provide competition for the Spanish star. But because it’s only a temporary deal, United will have to find a new keeper in the coming summer.
When Dean Henderson returns from his loan at Nottingham Forest, there’s a fair chance he’ll sign a long-term contract somewhere else after experiencing first-team play once more.
Given these facts, there are higher chances that the United board will pursue Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Oblak in the summer of 2019.
Even while Dea Gea’s shot-stopping skills are still top-notch, he is beginning to show symptoms of vulnerability when it comes to controlling his box and playing out from the back, particularly with Erik ten Hag’s new possession-based style.
The Atletico Madrid board has not taken this rumours well because they are aware that Ten Hag’s squad wants to put together a quality team for the upcoming season, and the goalkeeper would be one of the players. Last summer, United attempted to get Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid for 110 million euros, and they will attempt to do so once more.

Atletico fans should relax because the club and player have a verbal pre-agreement that will keep Oblak at the club until 2028, despite the fact that he has not had the best start to the current season.
