According to the Italian publication Calciomercato, Manchester United have made plans to sign Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries in the upcoming transfer window.
As per the report, Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be a part of the potential deal for the Dutchman, who has impressed at Inter. However, the Nerazzurri simply want a cash deal for their star player, thus it is likely that they will turn down the player push cash deal.
The former Serie A winners have set a £44 million price tag on Dumfries and clubs like Chelsea and United are apparently willing to match that fee. Erik ten Hag will need a good cover for Diogo Dalot and the Dutch star may be an ideal signing for the former Ajax manager.
Dumfries has performed admirably for the Italian side Inter Milan. He is a versatile right-back who, if necessary, can also play as a wing-back.
Additionally, if necessary, he can play as a midfielder. Despite this, he has been a crucial member of Simon Inzaghi’s team and possesses strong defensive skills.
However, ten Hag might want him because of his attacking skills. At United, the former Ajax manager uses a possession-based style, and his fullbacks are crucial to the setup.
The 26-year-old might thrive at Manchester United under ten Hag and offer some much-needed backup along the right wing region.
