The Red Devils are reportedly set to make another splash in the summer transfer window as the clubs chiefs have traveled to Lazio to negotiate a deal with Sergej Milinkovic Savic.
Manchester United offloaded Marouane Fellaini in the January transfer window to China and has allowed Ander Herrera to leave for Paris Saint Germain in the summer. There is still speculation surrounding the future of ace midfielder Paul Pogba as rumors are linking the Frenchman to join La Liga side Real Madrid.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has wasted no time in recruiting and trying to bolster his squad and has snapped up deals for Daniel James and Aaron Wan Bissaka this summer but the Norwegian is aware that he needs reinforcements if he has to get United back to competing for trophies on a regular basis.
But the 46-year-old wants to add quality players to his midfield department and are showing a keen interest in signing Lazio attacker Sergej Milinkovic Savic this summer. The Serbian was a target for United last term as well but a deal failed to materialize.
The 24-year-old Serbian midfielder did not reach the heights of his previous term but still scored five goals for the Italian club and also notched up three assists as well in the process this term. However, Savic has proved that he is top class in the attacking part of the pitch and has an eye for goal if he is playing alongside good players.
Manchester United might want to seal a deal for Savic but Lazio are demanding around £89 million but might have to settle for something in the range of £71 million after a relatively quiet season that Savic went through.
