According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Inter Milan star Lisandro Martinez has drawn interest from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain. He has previously been linked to many of Europe’s premier clubs, but he has remained committed to the Nerazzurri.
Due to his successful time in Italy, the Argentinean international is one of the best young strikers at this moment. The 25-year-old was instrumental in La Albiceleste’s Copa America victory the previous year and helped the Italians to the Scudetto in the 2020–21 campaign.
Martinez had a brief spell of goal drought before scoring against Barcelona in the Champions League group stage match. El Toro is still a highly sought-after player, and PSG and Manchester United are just two of his most recent suitors.
After failing to sell Cristiano Ronaldo, whose aspirations to leave Old Trafford were in fruitless, Manchester United failed to sign a centre-forward this summer. The Portuguese forward’s departure in January or the following summer appears likely after losing Erik ten Hag’s favour. This season, Marcus Rashford has been the preferred striker, but the Red Devils will need a player who can score goals frequently going forward. Martinez thus appears to be a fantastic choice for the Old Trafford outfit.
Whereas on the other side, PSG may need to be prepared for life without Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe. Rumours about Mbappe’s departure have lately surfaced out of the blue, and just months after agreeing to a rich new contract, he seems eager to leave the French capital.
Messi’s contract, though, is up next summer, and despite the fact that he has the option to extend it by another year, Barcelona is apparently interested in bringing him back to Camp Nou.
Martinez could have a great opportunity to leave Italy in favour of a move to one of these clubs. However, the former Racing star is not considering leaving and is instead focused on performing well for Inter.
The Argentine striker will be aiming to prepare well as he is an important member of Lionel Scaloni’s team ahead of the World Cup campaign in Qatar in November.
