Manchester United ready to target Jeremie Frimpong this January

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United may make an offer for Bayern Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong this January, but Chelsea will likely provide strong competition for his signature.

This season, Frimpong has excelled in a variety of positions, and his efforts have earned him a call-up to the Netherlands’ preliminary World Cup roster.

The 21-year-old, who rose through Manchester City’s youth ranks before moving to Celtic in 2019, is starting to draw interest from some of the finest clubs in Europe. In fact, earlier this week, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano said that the Red Devils had sent scouts to Germany to keep an eye on Frimpong. The Dutch right-back has been a standout in the Bundesliga for the past two years, scoring six goals in 46 league games for Leverkusen.

All of the players have experienced a bit of a whirlwind since Erik ten Hag’s arrival, which has provided United with a clear direction for their style of play.

Players like Diogo Dalot have significantly improved under the tight management of the Dutch coach. And ten Hag’s insistence on making the best possible use of them has helped the Red Devils in progressing even further.

Over the course of the upcoming transfer windows, the Red Devils will see significant changes, and a few players may be allowed to leave. One such player is Aaron Wan-Bissaka, a right-back who has struggled to gain the trust of ten Hag because of the constant presence of Diogo Dalot on the right side of the defence.

He has not yet played for the Netherlands’ national team. But because there aren’t many talented right-backs in his country, his chances of being chosen are improving. This season, Frimpong has also been used in a very advanced position, and his return has been outstanding as he has already scored five goals.

The 21-year-old will be the focus of fierce bidding as Manchester United and Chelsea both looking forward to securing a contract for the talented player.
