According to the Manchester Evening News, Stade Rennes forward Martin Terrier is a target for several Premier League teams, including Manchester United.
The 25-year-old is being watched by the Red Devils, who have been seeing him play for the past two weeks. However, the France U21 international has been scouted by almost half of the English top-division squad. Terrier signed a new contract with Rennes that runs until 2026 despite receiving interest from other clubs during the most recent transfer window. And the French club will demand more than £30 million for his services.
The 25-year-old left Olympique Marseille in the summer of 2020 to join Rennes. The forward made46 appearances across all competitions for the Ligue 1 side and contributing seven assists and 21 goals. The French national has become even more important to Rennes during the current season. In total, he has played in 18 games across all leagues, scoring 11 goals.
Meanwhile, for Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo was the only attacking player to routinely score in the 2021/22 season. Under Erik ten Hag, the Portugal international, though, seems to be playing without his shooting boots.
While Marcus Rashford has been our talisman this year, the 25-year-old’s finishing abilities are far from brilliant. And nobody has regularly put the ball in the back of the net except the England international. In the current season, the Dutch manager has preferred beginning with Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Rashford. Anthony Martial has, regrettably, spent the majority of the season on the sidelines.
At Rennes, Terrier has primarily played on the left wing. The 25-year-old can play through the middle as well. It will therefore be interesting to watch if the club decides to sign the Frenchman in the upcoming transfer windows.
