Facundo Pellistri’s agent Edgardo Lasalvia has admitted that he will work to accelerate the youngster’s exit because the player has yet to establish himself with the United first-team squad.
The Uruguayan winger moved to Old Trafford from Penarol in 2020, but so far he hasn’t been able to make an impact. Manchester United had secretly negotiated with Borussia Dortmund to acquire Jadon Sancho in 2020, but they were unable to sign him.
So they had decided to move forward with two unproven players, Amad Diallo from Atalanta and Pellistri from Penarol since they believed the pair could soon drive their attack to a new level.
United spent £10 million to get Pellistri’s services. However, as time went on, it was obvious that the Red Devils had added two more panic purchases to their list. The Red Devils never gave the 20-year-old Uruguayan prodigy a chance to play more often even if he is well-regarded in his homeland. The youngster is yet to play a single minute for United this season, and is most likely about to leave the club.
As reported by ESPN, Pellistri’s agent Lasalvia has revealed that he is currently negotiating a deal to find a suitable club, and he may be sold to a buyer very soon.
He said:
“I think that with a good World Cup, as we think it will have, his departure is imminent.”
United is renowned for nurturing young players. It’s debatable if the Red Devils handled Pellistri well at all, and it could do more harm to their reputation given that Marcus Rashford, whose contract the Red Devils want to extend, has already proven his value in the Premier League.

The Uruguayan potential might be one of the extremely uncommon transfers where a player rarely plays for his dream club and is unlikely to be seen on the field before the World Cup returns.
