Manchester United have not given up hope in the pursuit of Jurrien Timber

As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United will rekindle its interest in Jurrien Timber in the upcoming transfer window.

In the summer of 2022, the Red Devils kept tabs on the 21-year-old. However, the two clubs were unable to reach an agreement.

However, the Old Trafford club is now again being linked with a move for the Dutch defender. He has been mentioned as a potential replacement for Harry Maguire.

Since Erik ten Hag moved into the United dugout, the England international has slipped down the pecking order. The 29-year-old has struggled to get game time after beginning the campaign’s first two games.

The gaffer’s favoured pair have been Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez. Additionally, our defence has been largely strong thanks to the French and Argentine pairing. Martinez was the latest Ajax player to move to the Red Devils during the most recent transfer window. The decision to sign the Argentine was successful.

The majority of followers have grown to like the 24-year-old right away. He has gained the support of the spectators on the field thanks to his aggression and persistence.

At Ajax, Timber has also advanced through the ranks. He won the Eredivisie title while playing alongside Martinez in the defensive back-line the previous year.

The 21-year-old is also scheduled to travel to Qatar for the World Cup as a member of the Dutch team. The defender is no stranger to Ten Hag and the manager knows that all of his signings have adapted well to life at United.

It will be intriguing to see how another Ajax star performs in Manchester under the Dutch management.
