Manchester United can sign Joao Felix in a loan deal for only £8 million with Atletico Madrid open to sanctioning the forward’s exit in a short-term transfer in the January window.
Felix has been widely tipped to leave the Spanish capital when the transfer window reopens for business in the New Year with the Portugal international struggling to nail down a regular spot on the Atletico team sheet.
With some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs credited with an interest in the former Benfica talent, Manchester United face a race against time to convince Felix to make the move to Old Trafford as Eric ten Hag looks to bring in a replacement for his former talisman Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to a report from The Daily Record, it is claimed that United could be offered the chance to sign Felix on a loan but would be forced to pay his full wages and a loan fee worth £8 million with Atletico opening the door for Felix to depart.
United’s rivals Arsenal are said to be in a more advanced position in their talks with Felix and his camp with the North London heavyweights hoping to bolster their injury-hit front line by signing the out of favor Atletico forward.
