Joao Felix is ready to accept a loan offer from Arsenal or Manchester United with both clubs expected to step up their pursuit of the wantaway Atletico Madrid frontman.
The former Golden Boy winner has struggled to earn regular first team football at the Wanda Metropolitano and the Atletico manager Diego Simeone is understood to have given his nod for Felix’s departure in the upcoming January transfer window.
According to a report from the Spanish news outlet AS, it is claimed that the 23-year-old forward is prepared to leave the La Liga giants next month but remains keen to stay put at Atletico beyond the summer of 2023.
United are said to have identified the ex-Benfica starlet as the viable replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo who left the club earlier this year after his well-documented fallout with the manager Eric ten Hag led to the former’s termination of contract with the Red Devils.
Signing Felix, however, could prove to be tough to pull off for United and Ten Hag with the Premier League table toppers Arsenal set to make a formal approach for the forward in the opening days of the winter window.
