Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag wants to bring World Cup finalist Axel Disasi to Old Trafford in January.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, United will have competition from teams like Tottenham to sign the €50 million-rated star.
Harry Maguire’s future at the club is uncertain, so Ten Hag must urgently bolster his defensive unit in the January transfer window.
And it appears that the Dutchman has a particular man in mind. United may attempt to lure the 24-year-old defender from Monaco this winter.
Disasi is a center-back who can also play on the right side of the defense. The Frenchman is extremely quick, calm under pressure, and strong in the air and on the ground when he makes a tackle. Disasi has scored one goal and three assists in 15 Ligue 1 games for Monaco so far this season. He has averaged 1.3 tackles, 2.2 interceptions, three clearances, and 2.3 winning aerial duels per game over those appearances.
The France international is an excellent passer as well. He has made an average of 48.3 passes per game in 15 Ligue 1 games for Monaco this season, with an average completion rate of 82.5%.
He is a genuinely fascinating young talent, and he will cost around €50 million (£44 million). And if United manage to sign Axel Disasi for that kind of money, I feel like it would be a great deal for the club.
